François Richomme


Born in 1967, classical music studies at age six with focus on percussions. Early interest in sound techniques, new technologies and world cultures.

Professional since 1984, alternatively as sound designer, musician and sound engineer in Europe, USA, North-Africa and Asia in various contexts: collaborative works with artists from various countries, contemporary dance performances, concerts (popular music, ethnic, electroacoustic, contemporary, acousmatic), shows for children, theaters (Scènes Nationales in France), festivals (Montreux Jazz Festival, Montpellier Dance Festival, Busan Dance festival (Korea), Festival Vidéo Formes, Festival International de Video i Arts Digitals de Girona (Spain), Festival of Visual Arts of Casablanca)...

Besides live performances, studio and outdoor recordings as engineer, musician or artistic producer: Juan Quintana (Latineando), Marc Hévéa (Sur les Planches), Colors & Light, Bruno Perren (Changement de Programme, Les Oiseux du Ciel), Robinson (Loin de la Ville, Nouvelles de Mars), Jean Tricot, Jill Knight (Rare October), Witiza (Protus Ré), Héliade (Ode Avant la Lumière)...

After studies on body, movement and dance, creation of sound designs for choreographic works: Marc Vincent (Disparition, L'homme absent mais tout entier dans l'espace), Yann Lheureux (No One's Land, Voisins-Voisines, Christian Zagaria (Arts Immédiats), Emmanuel Grivet (Nourish, Time is Over, De bouts de corps en corps debout), Khalid Benghrib (Tempi), Didier Théron & Michelle Murray (Hara-Kiri, Je ni arriverai jamais), Fadhel Jaïbi (Fragments Intimes)... Also performances as a dancer with Mathilde Monnier (Sursaut) and Anna Halprin (Spirit of Place).

Since 1985, regularly organizing music workshops, classes, children-teens-adults, courses in electroacoustic, computer music. Also accompaniment for dance training (CCN Montpellier, CND Paris, KNUA Seoul), music for massage, for meditation, collaboration with psychotherapists. Body-mind based approach of artistic practices always much emphasized using various tools: Feldenkraïs®, F.M. Alexander®, Body-Mind Centering®, Cranio-Sacral Therapy®, Zero Balancing®...

Certifications: Esalen Massage Therapist (Esalen Institute®, California) - Aikido, 2nd Dan (Haragei School) - Yoga/Pranayama (Kaivalyadhama Institute®, India).
